Observations

This episode’s focus is on ‘power’, ‘sex’, ‘obsession’ and ‘love.’

• Olivia & Jacob’s first date. Olivia and Jake go on a date to a historical spot. It’s the spot she picked! Who knew Olivia’s such a political junkie?! (We all did!)
• Case of the Week - This is the second week that there’s a case of the week! It’s the fun format that show has done flawlessly in season 1 and I’m here for it!
• New Client - Olivia has a new client – Will Caldwell – a gay politician from North Carolina running for governor that needs to find a wifeSTAT! (Olivia wants him to be governor on his brother’s order, I believe?)
• Eric Mabius - Will’s Brother is who I suspect to be where Ugly Bettystar Eric Mabius comes into play. Caldwell is also the same last name for new Scandal character – Peter Caldwell. So did Peter approach Olivia to fix this before the media learns about his secret?

Spoiler Photos - Look at where Olivia is meeting with Caldwell – it’s his campaign office. Celebuzz shared two photos from this production scene last night.

• Dabby Sexy Time - There’s a hot, steamy sex rocking the Scandal world featuring Dabby and parking garages. Dabby’s got it ON in a car. (They’re both freaks!!!) So has David forgive and forget because he loves Abby?

• Big Presidential Ball- Fitz says or he appears to say that Olivia is not who she seems to be. (This of course supports very closely Fitz saying that Defiance was a betrayal act AND that’s precisely why he’s been drinking hard.) However Fitz is continuing to fool himself because as he’s giving a speech and his eyes catches the sight of Olivia. The world seems to stop for #OneMinute whenever they see each other. (I can’t help but point out that this was probably how Fitz would have reacted if he made it to his birthday gala and saw Olivia in THAT dress.) He still loves her and he’s still wearing the pin.

 

• Olivia Pope Fashion - Speaking of which, look at what Olivia’s wearing. It’s the same hair and outfit she’s wearing in this new promo photo with Scandal guest star Eric Mabius. Olivia has a cell phone in her hand lit up. Is there a OPA situation? Is there a David Rosen situation? Is there a Jacob situation? Better yet I think Peter interrupted Fitz and Olivia eyeballing each other with scandalous news that needs her full attention.

 

• TiePopcornGate - Clearly as Mellie is fixing Fitz’s tie, he’s thinking about Olivia. Clearly as Olivia’s eating popcorn and drinking wine at home, she’s thinking about Fitz.

 

• Jacob and his cameras. He has 10 cameras all over Olivia’s apartment. He has two in her bedroom. One facing her front door. Three cameras in her living room. WTF, Jacob!
• Harrison who has yet to get a damn love interest on this show is seen interviewing wife potentials for OPA’s new client.

“Boom Goes the Dynamite” – Olivia and the team are hired by an up and coming politician, Peter Caldwell (Eric Mobias), but this time instead of fixing a scandal, they’re playing high-powered matchmaker. Meanwhile, David is trying to leave the past behind him, but when he feels like he’s being followed, he finally turns to the team at OPA for help. Back at the White House, Fitz is still struggling with whom to trust and how to handle a delicate hostage situation, and Jake just won’t take no for an answer when it comes to dating Olivia.
